Introducing La Scala
Where everything has its place.
Every woman who carries a laptop to work has the same bag. Big, practical, and a mess by mid-morning. Angela Lauria kept the size and rebuilt everything else.
A bag in a bag
Layering, the idea of a bag inside a bag, inspired La Scala's three-in-one compartment structure. Built like a sandwich cookie, leather, divider, leather, it turns a structuralist idea into something you use every day. The center layer fits a 14-inch laptop, and the rest of the commute, the scattered thoughts and scattered things, gets a place of its own.
At around 940 grams, La Scala weighs about what a small water bottle does.
Three compartments usually mean one thing: Heavy. But not here, as it is remarkably light for a bag that carries a laptop.
Meet the Designer
Formerly of Stella McCartney, Alaïa, Bottega Veneta
Angela Lauria spent over ten years designing accessories for houses that take leather seriously: head of bags and accessories at Stella McCartney, senior leather goods designer and atelier manager at Azzedine Alaïa, women's leather atelier manager at Bottega Veneta. Her work is refined, technically exact, and made for the pace of a modern city.

The Inspiration
Teatro alla Scala in Milan is one of Lauria's favorite buildings. Straight lines meeting curves, symmetry stacked on symmetry, red curtains against gold. The bag reads the same way. A clean square frame that softens into a slight slump when you pick it up. An opera house in miniature, taken apart and put back together in a way you don't expect.
Room for a laptop, and a place for everything else.
Designed with intention. The back holds a 13-inch laptop flat. The center fits a 14-inch ThinkPad, or a water bottle and umbrella on days you leave it behind. The front pocket takes your badge and documents, and hidden pockets keep phone, cards, and keys out of sight.
In Black, Burgundy, and Mocha
Black in pebbled calfskin, Burgundy and Mocha in nappa. Three leathers that soften the more you carry them, made for year-round rotation.
Hardware and Stitching
Every edge is hand-stitched, finished with Fabrique's signature gold-electroplated bead, a mark that won't tarnish.
