Knitwear has been the throughline of this Belgian designer’s career for more than 20 years, long before it became a point of fashion conversation. She started at Burberry as a knitwear designer, then moved into a consulting role at Lemaire, where Christophe Lemaire relied on her to develop a series of defining looks during the brand’s ascent. Along the way, she also consulted for Lacoste, working across houses that demanded very different ideas of structure, comfort, and restraint.
Her appointment as Design Director at denim label Closed marked a turning point. Rather than shifting the brand’s identity, she expanded it introducing knitwear as a counterweight to denim’s rigidity. The result was a clearer, more balanced wardrobe language that blended French ease with daily practicality, earning consistent attention from designers and buyers who value clothes that work beyond a single season.
In recent years, her focus has moved to The Knit Archive, which she co-founded as a way to treat knitwear as something accumulated, not trend-driven. Drawing from thousands of collectible vintage knits, her work resists fast cycles. That approach carries into her Fabrique capsule, inspired by Sheila Hicks’s material experiments and Taryn Simon’s floral compositions and modern essentials shaped by function, detail, and quiet confidence rather than spectacle.
