For Alice Firman, fashion offers a way to understand emotion. The Italian designer brings an impressive resume, previously at MSGM, New Guards Group, Alexander Wang, Vivienne Westwood, Antonio Marras, Costume National, Gentucca Bini and Rick Owens. She earned a first-class BA from Edinburgh College of Art in 2016 before completing her MA in Fashion Womenswear at the Royal College of Art.
Her accolades include the Swarovski and Whistle competitions and the All Walks Beyond the Catwalk zine award. Firman’s designs have been featured in exhibitions across London, where her ability to translate emotional states into garments has drawn attention. She believes that clothing can reflect the unspoken gestures, moods, and the subtle shifts of the inner world. Her design process often begins with a feeling, which she then frames through tailoring and refined materiality.
What defines her work is a focus on near-invisible detail and a deep respect for fabric quality—elements shaped by both her Italian heritage and her instinct to make the intangible visible. Firman’s pieces often reward a closer look, offering small revelations that connect craft with feeling.
