Sophie Jousse built her career in luxury handbag design through hands-on experience. Her decade-plus journey began at Hermès, where she worked across a range of products, from small leather accessories to signature handbags. There, she learned traditional handcraft techniques that form the foundation of luxury leather goods. Every project added to her design vocabulary, building technical skills that would prove essential later.
At Celine, Sophie worked as a senior leather goods designer and was involved in the creation of several successful pieces. She contributed to the design of the chain-strap Triomphe bag, whose metal straps complemented the bag’s elongated proportions and iconic Arc de Triomphe clasp. She also played an active role in the development of the Plage collection’s Bucket bags, part of Celine’s first capsule to include swimwear and beach towels.
At Fendi, she immersed herself in the principles of Italian luxury design. The brand’s century-long history granted access to extensive archives, which she drew upon to support the revitalization of pieces such as the double-F logo saddle bags and the Mon Trésor—one of the year’s best-selling small bags—crafted in rare leathers and featured in fashion magazine editorials.
Now based in Rome, her collaboration with Fabrique is inspired by the artistic atmosphere of the Monti district. The Monti bag, which she helped develop, features clean lines, thin straps, and dual-zip construction—designed for versatility, from office to leisure. Made with soft leather for everyday use, it reflects her approach to creating refined, modern urban accessories.
