His career began at Trussardi, overseeing Asian ready-to-wear lines, which expanded his international experience in Japan and Korea. This early exposure to diverse markets shaped his global perspective on fashion.

Romano's longest professional engagement was at Costume National, where he spent seven years designing ready-to-wear collections. This period was crucial for refining his skills and establishing strong industry relationships. Following this, Romano took a significant step by opening his own studio and transitioning into a consultant role for various brands. This move allowed him to work on diverse projects, showcasing his versatility in the fashion world.
