Background
Mark Tan is a Danish fashion designer whose career began unusually early. At just twelve years old, he started creating garments for Danish royalty—an experience that shaped his lifelong fascination with structure, proportion, and the narrative power of clothing.

He went on to train and work at some of fashion’s most influential houses, including Dior, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen, where exposure to couture techniques and avant-garde tailoring refined his technical and conceptual approach. In 2014, he founded his namesake label, Mark Kenly Domino Tan, establishing his atelier in Copenhagen with a clear vision: to merge modern aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship through sharp cuts and exceptional fabrics.
Tan’s design philosophy is rooted in menswear principles. He is drawn to the durability, clarity, and practicality of menswear fabrics, cuts, and colour palettes—elements that give his womenswear collections their distinctive, gender-neutral edge. Nordic design contributes clean lines and restraint, while French haute couture cutting introduces softness and emotion. Together, these influences create a balance between rational structure and poetic expression.
His work has received widespread recognition. In 2020, ELLE named him Designer of the Year, and his collections have been featured by Vogue, Women’s Wear Daily, and Tatler. His designs are worn by Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, and signature pieces such as tailored coats and sleeveless turtlenecks have become staples among fashion insiders.
For his collaboration with Fabrique, launched in 2024, Tan focuses on architectural silhouettes, organic textures, and layered construction. The collection draws inspiration from Scandinavian minimalism and traditional Chinese art, creating a dialogue between restraint and emotion. Natural linens, structured forms, and a nuanced colour palette come together to express strength through clarity—garments designed not only to be worn, but to reflect the inner life of the wearer.
