"The future of fashion is to invest in clothes that surpass more than just a season."– Jamie Cockerill. When Jamie Cockerill's master’s collection at Central Saint Martins caught Kanye West’s attention during London Fashion Week, it launched a career defined by craftsmanship and conviction. Born in Derbyshire, Jamie grew up around his father’s saddlery workshop, where he developed a deep respect for meticulous, hands-on making—an influence that still shapes every stitch in his work today.
After completing both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the prestigious London fashion school, Jamie moved to Paris, where he has spent over a decade quietly shaping fashion from the inside. His first major opportunity came when Kanye invited him to collaborate on his debut fashion line. That moment led to Jamie being named Creative Director at Jitrois, a leather-focused house where he expanded the brand’s offerings beyond its core into knitwear, tailoring, denim, outerwear, and accessories.
His technical expertise with leather goods next brought him to Kenzo, where he worked as Senior Designer under Humberto Leon, overseeing everything from runway collections to commercial lines across leather, denim, outerwear, and tailoring. His ability to navigate both directional and wearable design earned him a place across multiple fashion houses.
Jamie currently splits his time as Freelance Creative Director at The Kooples, helping guide the brand’s relaunch across all categories—including both menswear and womenswear, plus accessories—while also consulting on womenswear design for other clients.
