Amanda Gerell
Paris
With Fabrique since 2025
French-Swedish fashion designer with Y/Project and Acne Studios pedigree. L'Oréal Design Award recipient whose intuitive creations grace Paris Fashion Week and Vogue editorials. Now consulting for luxury houses while launching the acclaimed Fabrique collection.
Amanda Gerell brings her distinct Nordic background to Paris, where she's lived for a decade. The Swedish designer's career path took her through Y/Project in France, where her creativity free, and Acne Studios in Sweden, which refined her attention to detail "from fabrics to accessories." Now a freelance creative consultant to multiple renowned brands, her work is mostly shaped by interests beyond fashion such as interior design, art, and psychology all influence her creative process.
I often dream about fabric or color combinations," Gerell explains. She draws heavily from history, traditional clothing, and craftsmanship techniques that she considers vital. For her, fashion transforms everyday dressing into self-expression: "I love art, but fashion is the only creative form you can be completely immersed in every day." This philosophy grounds all her work, balancing artistic vision with practical wearability.
Her Fabrique collaboration embodies this balanced approach with deconstructed cuts that transition seamlessly from commute to evening gatherings. The collection features soft fabrics that capture that relaxed Nordic sensibility while maintaining functionality. "A complete wardrobe should be multifunctional and timeless—clothes that mix easily and evolve with the wearer," she emphasizes. After years with experimental brands, Gerell recognized the disconnect between runway and reality. Now she focuses on creating pieces that naturally integrate into everyday wardrobes: "I want to design clothes my mother and friends would genuinely enjoy wearing."
