Agnes Kolignan moves between worlds. Based in Florence, this Central Saint Martins graduate has built her reputation on print designs that blend medieval mystery with delicate florals. Her resume reads like a fashion insider's wish list: print and embroidery designer at Balmain, Givenchy, and Roberto Cavalli, with collaborations extending to John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, IRO, and Sophia Kokosalaki. Her 2015 Paris Creative Award finalist work has landed on covers of VOGUE, ELLE, and NYLON, establishing her as a print designer whose visual language speaks volumes.

Her Saint Martins graduation collection, which won the prestigious L'Oréal Talent Award, revealed Kolignan's depth early on. Using traditional silk-screen printing, she drew from European crypt skulls, Victorian ornaments, and Fra Angelico's Renaissance angel wings – all set to Björk's "Pluto" as an homage to Alexander McQueen. The fashion world truly took notice in 2009 when her pen-drawn prints for Sophia Kokosalaki merged Egyptian goddess Isis imagery with botanical elements and falcon motifs. These designs, paired with elegant robe-style cuts, became instant season standouts.

At Givenchy, creative director Riccardo Tisci championed her work, seeing her prints as artistic expressions of his "dark romantic" vision. Their collaboration for AnOther magazine's 10th anniversary produced what Tisci described as "dark decay, sensual indulgence, something that awakens pure pleasure."

Recent years have seen Kolignan pivot to jewelry, studying for her master's at Florence's Alchimia Jewelry Design Academy under masters Evert Nijland, Lucia Massei, and silver expert David Clarke. Her collections – "Chimera," "Orchid," and "Lover's Eye" – showcase this new direction. Florence's landscapes directly influence her Fabrique collaboration, where she transforms realistic florals through oil painting techniques and Chinese-inspired bamboo motifs. The collection beautifully balances vibrant energy with timeless elegance, capturing the essence of feminine vitality that has always underpinned her work.
