Inspiration

Laurent finds inspiration in the everyday - friends' outfits, their personal style, and places they go together. His French countryside home provides endless inspiration. Instead of chasing seasonal trends, he focuses on real, traditional pieces that become wardrobe essentials, unaffected by market whims. He keeps asking what women want to wear and what could become their new basics, aiming to give them personality while keeping things elegant and refined. These pieces stay relevant beyond any season's trends.

Background
Esteemed experience at Hermès and MUGLER, head designer at Tod’s WRTW Runway and Moncler Genius. A testament to success and innovation.
French designer Laurent Chorda, now TOD'S chief runway designer, built his foundation at Centre Universitaire Vauban, earning a creative arts degree (2001-2004) before completing his fashion design bachelor's at ESMOD Paris (2004-2007). His early career in 2005 saw him working alongside industry giants - assisting at Maison Martin Margiela, Sonia Rykiel, and Karl Lagerfeld. By 2008, he achieved his master's from ESMOD with highest honors, simultaneously winning the CARVEN Prize for his outstanding graduate collection.
Since 2010, Chorda's portfolio expanded significantly through designer roles at Mary Katrantzou and VIONNET. His expertise in womenswear led him to MUGLER as senior designer, before taking a significant position at Hermès in 2019. Each role has contributed to his understanding of luxury fashion, blending French excellence with innovation.
His collaboration with Fabrique draws inspiration from everyday observations - how friends dress and the places they visit. Growing up in the French countryside remains his biggest inspiration source. Chorda focuses on creating wardrobe essentials that transcend time. His design philosophy centers on what women actually want to wear, aiming to create pieces that become new closet staples while maintaining elegance and refinement.
