Background

MATERIEL Founder. Le Monde's "most important brand". Featured in VOGUE, ELLE. Dresses Kardashians, Cardi B.

Maia Gogiberidze's MATERIEL has emerged as a notable presence in the fashion industry from Tbilisi, Georgia's capital. Founded in 2014, this brand has gained international recognition. MATERIEL's history extends to 1949 as Fashion House Materia, one of Soviet Georgia's major clothing manufacturers. Gogiberidze has integrated this heritage into a contemporary urban aesthetic.

In a short time, MATERIEL has caught the eye of fashion heavyweights. Le Monde dubbed it "Georgia's most important brand," while VOGUE, ELLE, and BAZAAR frequently showcase its designs. Celebrities like the Kardashians, Cardi B, and Hailey Bieber have been spotted sporting MATERIEL pieces. But there's substance behind the hype. Gogiberidze has built a team that's 98% women, using 75% sustainable fabrics and championing eco-friendly production methods.

MATERIEL's designs are a love letter to Georgia's brutalist architecture, featuring precise, angular cuts that marry structured silhouettes with feminine flair. Their eco-leather coats have become a signature, sparking a trend in fashion circles. Gogiberidze has created a brand that blends the creative energy of Georgia's youth with a mature manufacturing system and unique aesthetic vision. By bringing together young Georgian talent, MATERIEL isn't just following trends - it's crafting them, all while staying true to sustainability and local craftsmanship.
