Background

Louis Vuitton advisor; Emilia Wickstead, Roksanda design director alum. Chloé Prize & Central Saint Martins laureate. London-based luxury visionary with 20+ years crafting Paris runway standouts.

Caroline Smithson earned her stripes early—winning both the prestigious Chloé Prize and Central Saint Martins award right at the start of her career set the tone for what would become a remarkable two-decade journey through luxury fashion. The London-based designer has since built an impressive portfolio: design director positions at Roksanda and Emilia Wickstead, plus sought-after creative consulting roles for Louis Vuitton and Victoria Beckham. When brands of this caliber keep calling, you know there's substance behind the name.

Smithson's signature lies in how she weaves feminine softness into classic pieces without losing their structure. Her cocoon silhouettes feel deliberate rather than accidental, while three-dimensional petal details add texture that catches light on Paris runways. These aren't just pretty touches—they're calculated design moves that transform everyday pieces into something memorable. Her understanding of proportion and her eye for the kind of details that make women feel confident shows in every collection.

Her latest collaboration with Fabrique, "Modern Romance in Winter," addresses a real problem: how to stay warm without sacrificing style. Smithson's solution involves working with silk, alpaca wool, and precise tailoring to create pieces that transition seamlessly from day to night. The collection adapts to urban rhythms, meaning you can look polished whether you're rushing to meetings or heading out for dinner. It's thoughtful design that recognizes how women actually live—and Caroline, that's exactly why the industry keeps watching.
