Meet the Designer
Formerly of Saint Laurent and Bvlgari
Meet Giorgia Scarpa, the designer behind Marais. Before opening her own studio in Milan, she spent thirty years directing leather goods for some of the industry's biggest houses, starting at Prada and Dior, then leading design as leather goods director for Saint Laurent and Bvlgari, where she spearheaded the Serpenti collection. Now she's sought out by houses like Loewe, Gucci, and Roger Vivier.
The Inspiration
Before Marais had a name, it had a place: the street is in Le Marais, where Giorgia walked the neighborhood for weeks before she sketched the bag, past the arcades and old stone facades, old buildings standing next to new galleries, boutiques beside café tables spilling onto the sidewalk. Streets that feel worn in. Not the Paris of postcards. The Paris you actually live in.

Two Shades of Marais
Olive Green in suede, is fuller and richer in the hand, built for autumn and winter. Dark Brown in oiled waxed leather, is lighter, subtly lustrous, and only gets better with wear.
