Background
Former Chloé designer. Ex-Loewe runway womenswear creator. Saint Laurent runway assistant designer. Central Saint Martins and IFM graduate. Masters fluid silk bias cuts with sculptural silhouettes that transform with movement. Her poetic designs redefine modern feminine elegance.
For Yasmin Pan, fabric in motion tells a story that static design cannot. The Paris-based designer, who trained at both Central Saint Martins and Institut Français de la Mode, began shaping her distinctive approach at Saint Laurent's Flou design studio. There she mastered the art of silk bias-cutting, creating pieces that exist in two states: architectural sculptures when still, wave-like poetry when worn. Her technique is precise and three-dimensional, allowing garments to transform with the wearer's movements while maintaining their structural integrity.
When Loewe brought Pan on as a runway womenswear designer, she merged her fluid aesthetic with the brand's modern sensibility to create instantly recognizable pieces. Her designs consistently became runway standouts, with skirts that seemed to liquefy with each step. Now working independently while holding the position of womenswear designer at Chloé, Pan continues her exploration of movement through fabric. Her cutting techniques capture a contemporary femininity that transitions effortlessly between urban practicality and romantic settings, reflecting the multifaceted lives of today's women.
"The Ethereal Summer" collection, Pan's collaboration with Fabrique, captures the essence of summer's weightless beauty. Drawing from the natural world, she creates a vision of modern yet timeless femininity through flowing silhouettes and gentle hues. The collection emphasizes clean lines and tactile textures – lightweight dresses drape naturally against the body, becoming animated with every movement. These pieces speak to those who value unaffected beauty, offering garments that respond to the body rather than restrict it, creating a dance between fabric and form with every step taken.
